About SUHA
The Swedish University Hospital Alliance (SUHA), established in June 2025, brings together Sweden’s seven university hospitals in one unified network with the primary objective of strengthening university hospital care. SUHA also represents the university hospitals unique mandate and lobbies for the right conditions for them to evolve and excel further.

Together, these hospitals represent the core of Sweden’s university hospital system, spanning clinical care, research, and education.
Why SUHA
By aligning efforts and strengthening coordination, SUHA increases the strategic influence of Sweden’s seven university hospitals in shaping the future of healthcare. SUHA provides a stronger, more unified voice in dialogue with policymakers and other stakeholders on key issues affecting healthcare delivery.
Through stronger collaboration, the alliance also works to enhance access to highly specialised university hospital care and support more equitable and efficient delivery nationwide. This ensures that patients have access to the right care, at the right time, regardless of where they live.
This coordinated approach also strengthens national preparedness, enhancing the ability of university hospitals to respond effectively to unexpected events and crises, and reinforcing their role as critical infrastructure within the healthcare system.
